•   The tank is really easy to refill from the bottom. There is a threaded fill plug with a plunger that moves freely it seals well when you lift the tank off from the base. we do recommend putting the base in a small tray to collect spills and put a towel nearby for drips - just in case (this is not a negative, just a suggestion). 

•   It will shut off when it runs out of the water, There is a small safety float that trips the power off when it gets below a certain level, so even when it powers itself off there is a small amount of water remain on the ultrasonic membrane, so it never actually runs when completely dry. which is great because the ultrasonic membrane won't get damaged ever. 

•   3 litres is a great capacity for your needs. You can fill the tank about every other day, using only distilled water. This prevents any crystal build up, but you will still have to wipe down and rinse the bottom of the tank every few weeks to months to prevent bacterial growth. The outside of the tank is easy to clean, you can use a soft cloth but abrasives.
